Hardware Downscaling of Images
The monitor downscales 2K × 2K and 2.5K × 2K
signals to 1600 × 1600 and 2000 × 1600 resolutions
respectively. This gives aviation authorities and system
integrators an economical yet practical alternative
to investing in 2K × 2K or 2.5K × 2K monitors for
non-critical environments such as ATC simulation &
training centers and testing labs. Downscaling is done
inside the monitor, which ensures that system inte-
grators can use it without having to invest time and
money into adding downscaling capabilities to their
software applications. Furthermore, hardware down-
scaling ensures that grayscale gradations are displayed
smoothly and the screen updating speed is maintained.
Image Positioning
A downscaled image can be positioned in the center
or moved the right or left side of the screen. Mov-
ing the image to
one side or the
other optimizes
the functional-
ity of the Raptor
WS3001 in a dual
monitor environ-
ment since it minimizes
the amount of space
between images and the
resulting amount of eye movement.
Low Power Consumption
By consuming just 82 watts in normal operation
and less than 2 watts in standby mode, the Raptor
WS3001 requires less energy compared to 2K × 2K
monitors, which consume up to 160 watts during
normal operation and 15 watts in standby mode.
B
ased on EIZO’s FlexScan SX3031W,
this 30" monitor comes with all the
same features and functionality, but has
been outfitted with downscaling
capabilities. This makes it ideal as an
economical replacement for a primary
control monitor in non-critical ATC
environments such as training &
simulation centers and technical labs.
