Administering the E300
The E300 includes features to assist with software updates, back up and restore, and other items.
Maintaining optimal E300 performance
The E300 is designed to require no maintenance. In addition, the E300 supports multiple methods for optimizing
performance.
Reduce network traffic:
•
Only publish the print connections that are being used.
The E300 constantly checks all published connections, even if they are inactive. It is easy to re-establish
connections if required.
The related settings can be found in
Configure
>
Job Submission
.
•
Schedule less-urgent and recurring print jobs for low-traffic periods.
Move jobs that are not urgent to the Held queue. At low-traffic periods, a E300 Administrator or Operator can
move jobs between queues.
•
Schedule less-urgent network communication for low-traffic periods.
Large numbers of users running E300 utilities, especially with frequent updates, may impact E300 performance.
Schedule E300 software updates and non-critical network usage for low-traffic periods.
Manage print jobs for greatest efficiency:
•
If using Fiery Central, confirm the Printer Groups are optimized for your print environment.
The load balancing options can be configured to use the fastest engine.
The rerouting options can be configured for shorter time outs and fewer reroutes.
•
Confirm job mismatch settings are optimized for your print environment.
The timeout period can be reduced.
Jobs can be set to be canceled after the timeout expires.
The settings can be found in
Configure
>
Job Management
>
