Adjusting the knife
Sharp properly adjusted knives are necessary to
achieve optimum working results with the EDER
Curved Planer set EKH19-A56. The supplied
hexagonal key 6 mm (12) and the knife gauge
(19) are necessary to set the knives:
Figure 22
Figure 23
First, the knife screw (11) is loosened and
the knife (09) is moved all the way back.
The knife gauge (19) is set on the cylinder
(03) so that it is on both top and bottom
contact surfaces of the cylinder (03) (see
image 2).
The knife (09) can then be moved to the
desired setting height (0.2 mm; 0.4 mm;
0.6 mm) (see image 2 and image 3).
The knife (09) is then tightened in this
position. (All 4 knives are set the same
way.)
Caution
The knife screws for the knife must be tightened
using a torque of
35Nm
. Check that the knives are
securely attached before each use.
The less the knife protrudes, the less wood is
removed and the smoother the surface.
Dull knives can be sharpened manually on
standard grinding wheels. The cutting angle is
40°.
