EDER Flat Planer set EPH-A56
Figure 15
Adjusting the knife
Sharp properly adjusted knives are necessary to
achieve optimum working results with the EDER
Flat Planer EPH1. The supplied hexagonal key
(12) is necessary to set the knives:
Set the key (12) with the notches to the
knife cylinder (03) facing the guiding plate
(19) (see figure 16).
Make contact between the knife (09) and
key (19) at the desired cutting depth
between 0.4 and 1.0 mm (see figure 16
and 17). The cylinder (03) must be
positioned so that the knife (09) protrudes
maximum through the guiding plate (19).
Set the knives (09) so that they protrude
max. 1 mm below the guiding plate (19).
Keep the knives (09) in this position. All 4
knives are set the same way.

Caution
The knife screws for the blades must be tightened
using a torque of
35Nm
. Check that the knives are
securely attached before each use.
The less the knife protrudes, the less wood is
removed and the smoother the surface.
Dull knives can be sharpened manually on
standard grinding wheels. The cutting angle is
40°.
