POTENTIAL FOR SPARKS IN THE WORK AREA!
INSTALLATION
1.
Disconnect negative cable from battery in the trunk of the
vehicle and wait for fuel pressure to drop.
2.
Remove engine cover by pulling upwards (The engine cover
is retained by rubber grommets).
3.
Remove the factory push-on type fuel fitting on the fuel rail
by depressing the plastic clips located on the sides of the
fuel fitting (Figure 1). Use shop rags to catch any fuel that
might spill from the fuel fitting removal process.
4.
Remove the fuel hose from the hard tube line located on the
chassis by using a fuel disconnect tool. (Figure.2) Use shop
rags to catch any fuel that might spill from the fuel hose
removal process.
5.
Ensure that the Russell EFI push-on fittings are properly
tightened on the Russell fuel hose assembly. Install Russell
fuel hose assembly on the vehicle with the 5/16” fitting
(smaller of the two) on the chassis side and the 3/8” fitting
on the fuel rail side. Push on the Russell EFI fittings until the
plastic clip is fully seated on the fuel supply tube and the
fuel rail tube. Tug on the push-on fittings to ensure a proper
connection. (Figure 3).
6.
Once the Russell Hose has been installed, reconnect the
negative battery cable and turn the ignition key to the “on”
position to allow fuel pressure to build. Start the vehicle and
let idle while watching for fuel leaks.
7.
Re-install the engine cover.
