5.8 Control of the minimum superheat using a hot gas bypass valve
The controller can control a hot gas bypass valve via a Modbus relay module (DO3), see chapter
assignment of the Modbus relay module 230 V AC
. The hot gas bypass valve is opened/switched on when the
superheat falls below 4 K. The valve will be closed again when the superheat has exceeded 6 K again.
The hot gas bypass valve is switched off in the event of at least one of the following conditions:
Measuring circuit error of the suction gas sensor
Fast unload
Max level
Accumulator max fill level
5.9 Heat Recovery Mode
Unavoidable waste heat occurs in a refrigeration pack system that is usually discharged to the surroundings.
This waste heat can also be used to save energy in the supermarket. The recoverability of this waste heat is
designated as heat recovery mode, abbreviated as HRC mode.
For example, the waste heat can be used for
Heating the supermarket
Hot water preparation (service and process water)
Air conditioning
What this means for the refrigeration pack system and pack controller:
The heat on the high pressure side is discharged through heat exchangers. As a result, the utilisation of the
gas cooler can be reduced.
The high pressure and the gas cooler outlet temperature setpoints are increased. This results in more
available waste heat. At the same time, this means consuming more electrical energy for the pack.
The HRC mode is mainly used in winter. The control of the heat exchangers and other HRC elements is
performed by another controller that usually belongs to the building management system.
5.9.1 Activation of the HRC Mode
The HRC mode is enabled using the parameter
ERG-Betrieb J/N
in menu 3-2-2-3. It can thus be signalled to
the pack controller when the HRC mode should be activated.
The activation signal can be sent in the following ways:
Via the digital input 21 (terminals 90/91) "heat recovery" or via the
CAN bus (a WRG 3010 A is required)
To protect the controller against permanent cycling of the activation signal (ON/OFF), the "swing protection"
function that ensures this is available, see chapter
.
The HRC mode is active while the activation signal is active.
