Features of the ejector control
Different system types are
supported
Two types of parametrisation and control of the gas ejectors are supported:
In operating mode 0, ejectors are not switched on and off according to their size, but via
thresholds of the small high-pressure valve. For this, it is only necessary to specify whether
the ejectors have the same size or ascending size (when a larger ejector is switched on, a
previous, smaller ejector is switched off). The size of the small high-pressure valve also does
not have to be parametrised here.
In operating mode 1, the sizes of the small high-pressure valve and the ejectors are
parametrised relative to the size of the large high-pressure valve. Then switching is based on
the sizes.
Number of ejectors
Up to 8 gas ejectors and up to 3 liquid ejectors are supported; however, maximum 8 ejectors in total.
Accumulator sensors
3 or 4 sensors are supported for measurement of the liquid level in the accumulator.
Attention: When the highest level switch is activated, the pack controller is put in fast unload mode.
Switching to ejector operation
When switching from operation with a large high-pressure valve to ejector operation, the ejectors are
started slowly to ensure stable operation.
Gas ejector switching time
A delay time for the switching of the gas ejector stages can be set to ensure stable operation.
Liquid ejector switching time
A delay time for the switching of the liquid ejector stages can be set to ensure stable operation.
Liquid ejector wait time
A waiting time can be set after another liquid ejector is switched on when the accumulator is full, if the
level has not fallen again due to the previously switched on ejector.
Evacuation mode
The evacuation mode is activated when the accumulator level reaches the second highest level
switch to empty the accumulator. The following are performed in the evacuation mode:
Increase t0 is withdrawn
Reduction of the superheat is withdrawn
Liquid ejectors (all) are switched on
Increase HP to specified HP value for evacuation mode (parameter: HP-Setp.Evac. in menu
3-2-2-4)
MP/LP difference remains active
This remains active until the lowest level switch has been undercut again.
Shift of the medium pressure
setpoint
The setpoints for medium pressure valve and parallel compressor are shifted so that the pressure
difference between medium pressure and low pressure (parameter: DeltaP MP-LP in menu 3-2-2-4) is
constantly maintained. Reason: The ejectors run more efficiently if the pressure stroke is not too
large.
Superheat control
In ejector operation, the superheat at the evaporator is reduced and the to-setpoint is increased in
order to achieve an energetically favourable operating mode. The reduction of the superheat is
withdrawn if the liquid level in the accumulator reaches the second highest level switch.
Service mode
The manual ejector stages can be switched on or off in service mode.
Block of the ejector operation
The ejector operation can be blocked by the following conditions:
parallel compressor fault
no NT compressor is running
High pressure more than 30s lower than configurable Min HP block threshold
In the case of measuring circuit error of the high pressure transmitter
Ejector status variable archiving
The following status variables are archived at intervals of 15 seconds.
1) Status of the relays for ejector stages
2) Control signal of the small HP valve
3) Status of the level switches 1..n
4) Status of the oil level switch / status of the relay for oil return
