Modbus-TCP-Master-Gateway

The Modbus-TCP-Master-Gateway software module is not enabled until activation with a valid activation code;
see chapter 6.6.1.3. Up to four Modbus-TCP-Master gateways can be integrated in the E*LDS system.

The individual gateways 1..4 are configured under the corresponding tabs

Modbus-Gateway 1 to Master-Gateway 4:

The settings of the respective Modbus-TCP-Master-Gateways 1..4 are made
using the

Basic configuration

,

CAN bus

and

Alarm

tabs on the bottom left.

Basic configuration

The specific parameters of the Modbus-TCP-Master gateway are set in the basic configuration. The activation
of the Modbus-TCP-Master process is controlled by the ”Active” checkbox. If the process is deactivated, this has
the consequence that the external data points are no longer mapped in the E*LDS system and the functions of
the Modbus-TCP-Master cannot be used.

More detailed descriptions of the tasks and functions of this software module
are available in the separate ”Modbus-TCP-Master-Gateway” API documentation.

If the external data points of an external system are mapped to the process image in the E*LDS system, the
E*LDS system can be used, for example, for monitoring purposes of external systems. A configuration file which
specifies the mapping is saved for this. Further information about the structure of the configuration file is avail
able from the manufacturer.

A manual system restart is required to apply the changes of the configuration; see chapter 6.6.1.3.
