2.2 Installation and connectivity
The Sonix Hmi Tu is a DIN rail mount unit, intended to
be mounted inside the PA/GA cabinet on most standard
EN 60715 rails:
•
EN 50022 (Top hat, TS35, TS35D, type “O” or type
“Ω”) 35 x 7.5/15 mm rail,
•
EN 50045 (mini Top hat or TS15) 15 x 5.5 mm rail,
•
EN 50035 (type G or TS32) 32 x 15 mm.
Unit is simply clipped onto the appropriate rail, always
check that all sets of fixings have engaged correctly on
the rail.

Care must be taken to ensure that the product is correctly sup-
ported within the cabinet. Always check that both sets of fixings have
fully engaged on the rail and the unit is secured on both ends, with no
possibility of it to slide along the din rail.
2.2.1 Hmi-Tu power connections & indicator
Power to the Sonix Hmi-Tu should be provided via a
2-core 48 V dc input on the side of the unit. This input
should be connected to the managed and regulated
48 V dc power output from the Sonix Pm10 power
management unit.
A green LED alongside the connector indicates the unit
is powered.
ote:
N
As these cables are power feeds they should be routed within
the PA/GA system in a way to avoid contact with signal or audio cables
and other high voltage cables.

2.2.2 Hmi-Tu RJ45 bus ports
The Hmi-Tu is installed as an integral component within
the PA/GA cabinet and connects to the Sonix 2Mx
Central Controller over the Hmi bus and via the Hmi-
Filter. These connections are identified by the yellow
CAT6A cables which connect the rear of the 2Mx via
the Hmi-filter board with the Hmi-Tu using the RJ45
connectors. The Hmi bus is connected as a loop from
the 2mx to provide redundant paths for the control data,
status data and audio should they be needed.

2.2.3 Access Panel Data and Audio connections
Data and audio connections from the unit to the access
panels should be wired with 2 twisted pair and screen
cable, with both individual and overall screen for
improved noise performance. The unit uses 1 pair for
outgoing audio with phantom power superimposed on
the signal and a second pair for the data connections.
Different types of access panels can be mixed on a
single unit. The access panel type is set by four links
assigned to each port. All four should be set into the
same position.
