and the monitor.
Items that require safety attention precaution during repairs and maintenance
WARNING
System maintenance should be completed by authorized technical and professional personnel
Contents
1. All maintenance is subject to local electrical, cooling and manufacturing regulations.
The manufacturer’s regulations must be followed during maintenance, otherwise the warranty will be void
Incompatible accessories will reduce performance or damage the Eaton iCube 2.0. It is recommended to use
genuine spare parts when a replacement is required.
6.1 Periodic maintenance of the power distribution system
Periodic cleaning
Clean the vents regularly on the front and back of the UPS to keep the airflow inside the UPS unobstructed and
confirm that nothing is obstructing the ventilation of the UPS.
Fan maintenance
With the UPS, check every six months to see if all fans are working properly (users should check if the fans are
spinning and if there is a fan error information on the LCD of the UPS panel) and replace faulty fans promptly.
Battery maintenance
If the UPS is equipped with battery, the battery must be maintained regularly. Maintenance Notes:
1. Battery life is greatly affected by the ambient temperature and the environment temperature should be kept
from 15°C to 25°C.
When the battery is not used for a long time (more than three months), it needs to be charged once, the charging
time should not be less than 10 hours.
If you find that the battery backup time is short, please contact the supplier in time to determine whether the
battery needs to be replaced or not.
When replacing the battery, please take note to use the same brand and model; if you want to replace with
another brand or model, please consult Eaton’s customer service.
Check the UPS status
Perform regular checks on the status of the UPS. Inspect the following:
1. Check if the UPS is faulty, if the warning light is lighted up and if there is an error alert
Check if the UPS is operating in a bypass mode or not. Under normal circumstances, the UPS will operate in the
power supply mode. If the UPS is operating in a bypass mode, confirm the reason for this mode of operation. For
example: is there a manual switching, a UPS overload, or a UPS error?
Check if the battery is in an electrical discharge state. The battery should not be discharged with normal
electricity line. If the UPS is operating in battery discharge mode, confirm the reasons for this. For example: is
there a main power failure, a manual switching, a battery check or a UPS failure?
