Assembly
NOTE: Clean the parts thoroughly and remove any
residue of sealant from the parts’ contact surfaces
prior to assembly.
1. Carefully clean the bearing housings and cups prior to
assembly.
2. With the internal side of the front case facing up,
assemble the new oil baffle (1) in the input shaft front
bearing cup housing.
3. Using special tools EEA-17031 and EEA-17006 (not
shown), assemble the input shaft front bearing cup (2)
on the oil baffle.
4. Using special tools EEA-17032 and EEA-17006 (not
shown), assemble the countershaft front bearing cup
(3).
NOTE: Do not install shims under countershaft or
input shaft/mainshaft front bearing cups. End play
adjustment is done by means of shims added under
shaft rear bearing cups (see Transmission Assembly
and End Play Adjustment in this manual).
6. From the clutch side, manually align the new front oil
seal and install it in the case , using tool EEA-18034,
until it stops.
NOTE: The picture shows the case without the input
shaft installed. The oil seal can be replaced with or
without the input shaft installed.
5. If removed, install oil intake paying attention to properly
mount the tube in its respective opening on the case and
the retaining screw in its counterbore.
