3. Disassembly and Assembly
30. Insert the reverse idle gear shaft with the slot and O-ring
side facing up. Rotate and position the shaft so that the
slot is facing the retaining plate bolt.
29. Install the double needle bearing onto the reverse idle
gear and position the gear in its housing, being careful to
prevent the needle roller bearing from falling underneath.

31. Install the reverse idle gear cover and the eight retaining
bolts. Use an 9mm hex socket.
NOTE: Apply Dow Corning 780 sealant onto the
cover contact surface. Tighten bolts in a criss-cross
sequence to the torque of 12-15 N.m (9-11 Lb.ft).
32. Install the reverse idle gear retaining plate and bolt, fitting
the plate into the shaft slot. Use an 11mm hex socket.
NOTE: Tighten the bolt to the torque of 16-26 N.m
(11-19 Lb.ft).
