STEP 4. LEFT-HAND DOOR ASSEMBLY
PLEASE NOTE:
The
LEFT-HAND
and
RIGHT-HAND
doors are
DIFFERENT.
Please also pay special attention to the different components and assembly steps involved.
It is very important that you take extra care when assembling the door, to ensure that when
hung, it will align neatly in the front panel and open and close correctly.
4.7
Layout all the components
as shown below.
4.9
Move the two U channels 'C1740'
&
'C1740H' into position. Ensure the U channels
are butted up firmly to the edges of the sheet,
following the vertical sheet rib lines. Fasten
with just one screw at each corner at this stage.
4.8
Move the two 'C777' U channels into
position, and secure with just two screws each
at this stage. Ensure the U channels are flush
with the edges of the sheet.
4.10
Position the door plate exactly half way up
the door. The flat end of the door plate is fitted
fitted between the U channel and the door sheet.
After drilling 3mm holes at rivet locations,
fasten the door plate to the sheet rib with two
rivets, then fasten the pad bolt to the door
plate with four rivets.
DOOR PLATE
'EDP'
NOTE: The base of the padbolt will
partially rest on the C1740 U channel
as shown above to ensure that the
locking bolt operates smoothly.
4.11
Check that all the components are located correctly, parallel to each other, and the door
is square (diagonal measurements are equal). Then, continue to fasten the remainder of the
screws shown above.
