Problem Action
There is no network
connection An incorrect IP address has been
selected. Check network settings or
contact network administrator. Check
all cables and plugs.
Printer
After a fault condition has
been rectified, Compact 32d
ribbon cannot be fitted The print head is in the extended
position and needs to be manually
retracted.
After a fault condition has
been rectified, Compact 32c /
53c cassette cannot be
reloaded The print head is in the extended
position and needs to be manually
retracted.
Problem Action
Printer constantly shows
ribbon error Ribbon core has incorrect specification.
Use original Easyprint ribbon.
Sensor arm may be defective. Verify the
sensors using the sensor test located in
the diagnostics menu.
Compact 32d, 32c and
53c print head does not
move up and down The print head motion is driven by the
stepper motor. Check the contacts
between the side arm gear segments and
the fifth stepper motor gears. Check the
side arm gears for damage. Check that the
print head up / down motion is smooth.
Worn peel-off roller If the peel-off roller is difficult to spin due to
a build up of material debris between the
inner roller body and shaft, change the
roller. If the peel-off roller is worn and
running loose on the shaft, change the
roller. Ensure that all ribbon guide pins are
square to the base plate.
Communicator II print
head does not move up
and down Air pressure is either not connected or
incorrectly set. Verify that the air tube is
free from bends and kinks.
