Usage

13.4 Dismantling the handpiece

 

i

Unscrew the instrument, see "Inserting/
changing instruments" on page 23

 

i

Take off the removable parts of the handpiece, 
see "Disassembly" on page 17

 

i

Check the Scaler handpiece light conductor 
for its light transmission, replace if necessary

13.5 Manual cleaning, intermediate 

rinsing, disinfection, final rins-
ing, drying in the cleaning and 
disinfection bath

A disinfectant or combined cleaning and disin-
fectant agent is required for manual disinfection 
It must have the following properties:

 

– certified, possibly virucidal efficacy (DVV/RKI, 

VAH or European Standards)

Cleaning

 

i

Place the removable parts of the handpiece 
(Scaler cover, light conductor), instrument 
holders of the tool kits (without instruments) 
and the disassembled handpiece in the clean-
ing bath for the required reaction time, so that 
all parts are covered

 

i

Clean all accessible external surfaces and in-
ternal surfaces below the surface for 5 min-
utes with a sterile cleaning brush until all visi-
ble contaminants have been removed

Rinsing the handpiece with water

 

i

Fill the fluid container to approx 1/3 with wa-
ter

 

i

Place the handpiece in a sink or in a suitable 
container

 

i

Start the rinsing process:
Press the RINSE button for at least 2 sec-
onds

RINSE

 

i

The LED flashes – the rinsing process takes 
around 30 seconds and ends automatically

Transport

 

i

Transport the device from the treatment loca-
tion to the reprocessing location in such a way 
as to protect against contamination

 

i

Remove course organic soiling with a disin-
fectant cloth
