SYMPTOM
CAUSE
REMEDY
Oven does not operate
(no or intermittent magnetrons)
HV diode shorted/open (permanently
no output)
Verify magnetron operation in service
screen.
WARNING: DISCHARGE
HV CAPACITORS BEFORE SERVICING
HV SYSTEM.
Measure diode and verify diode wiring logic.
Replace if necessary.
HV capacitor shorted/damaged
(permanently no output)
Verify magnetron operation in service screen.
WARNING: DISCHARGE HV
CAPACITORS BEFORE
SERVICING HV SYSTEM.
Verify capacitance of HV capacitors.
Replace if necessary.
HV transformer damaged (permanently
no output)
Verify magnetron operation in service
screen.
WARNING: DISCHARGE HV
CAPACITORS BEFORE
SERVICING HV SYSTEM.
Measure and visually inspect coils and
terminations of HV transformer. Replace if
necessary.
Magnetron SSR not triggered
Verify magnetron operation in service screen.
Both magnetrons have to be inactive.
Verify trigger signal from control board.
Verify supply voltage across SSR. If
SSR is not switching despite signal and
supply are present, replace SSR.
Otherwise determine root cause for
absence of either trigger signal (control) or
supply.
Interlock switches damaged
Verify operation of switch upon door
opening and closure.
Verify presence of signal voltage,
Verify wire logic.
Replace damaged switch if necessary.
Door not fully closed or Door switches
not adjusted (intermittent output if
partly engaging)
Verify operation of switch upon door
opening and closure.
Adjust switch bracket if necessary.
Conduct microwave leakage measurement
if possible.
Fans operating but control board is
inoperative
Magnetron thermostats activated
(intermittent output)
Verify line voltage over thermostat switches
when engaging.
Determine root cause for overheating
magnetrons.
