In the new pop-up window, give the unit a name and type in the IP address of the iSPA. Click the “OK” button.
At this point, if everything is set up properly, a PLC with this program should connect to the iSPA with Intelli-Motion, and
the network LED on the user I/O board should blink. If no blinking occurs, ensure the PLC is powered on and in “run” or
“remote run” mode. Check the network parameters. Sometimes changing a subnet mask from 255.255.255.0 to
255.255.0.0 will correct this problem. Check the wiring between the PLC and the iSPA with Intelli-Motion. Also check that
both the PLC and the iSPA with Intelli-Motion are powered.
4.2.3 Installing the iSPA with Intelli-Motion’s EDS file
If the EDS file is not found in Studio 5000, use the EDS Hardware Installation Tool to install the iSPA with Intelli-Motion’s
EDS file. Locate the icon in the “Start” menu or desktop and open the application.
In the application, click “Add.”
