Maintenance instructions for Duco Ventilation systems

E.3  How to clean the casing

1  Cleaning of the casing must be carried out by the resident
2  Clean the casing of the heat recovery ventilation system only with a damp cloth (water and soap (eg an all-purpose

cleaner))

3  You are strongly advised against the use of abrasives (eg sandpaper or scouring pads), pressure washers and harsh

cleaners (eg solvents or ammonia), that can affect the paintwork or plastic parts

E.4  How to carry out check-ups

1  Check-up must be done by an accredited installer
2  Isolate the DucoBox WTW
3  Open the door
4  Loosen the screw completely, releasing the control panel
5  Loosen the other 5 screws half way, so that the aluminum plate can be pushed upwards
6  Check the proper functioning of the heat recovery ventilation system
7  Carry out a visual check towards the water-side to see if there are any leaks
8  Check that the water on the plate under the evaporator can drain properly to the siphon Make sure the hole is free of

dirt or other obstructions

9  Check the fan and evaporator for fouling A small amount of fouling has little effect on the extract unit's and the evapo-

rator's performance If the fouling is more than 1 mm thick , we advise you to have them cleaned

10 Check the bearings You can do this by turning the impeller by hand
11 Check that the bearings do not make noise and that no resonance occurs
12 Check that the fan is not swinging
13 When the fan is set in motion by hand, it only makes a few revolutions and then comes to a standstill with some jerks

This is a characteristic of a DC extract unit and is therefore entirely normal

14 Depending on the outcome of the inspection, the extract unit will need to be cleaned and/or prepared for use
15 Check that there are no air leaks
16 Check the central heating water pressure and top up if necessary See installation manual DucoBox WTW
17 Close the cover
18 Put the DucoBox WTW under tension again
19 Check that no error messages appear on the display
20 Check that the DucoBox WTW does not make any noise and that no resonance occurs
21 In case of leaks or other repairs, please contact your supplier
