Verifica fasatura motore
Portare il motore nella configurazione
descritta per la “Verifica e
registrazione gioco valvole”,
precedentemente riportata.
Installare l’attrezzo
88765.1188 nel
pozzetto candela per determinare il
punto morto superiore del pistone, i
calibri
88765.1181 e l’attrezzo controllo
fasatura (goniometro 88713.0123 con
disco graduato 98112.0002 ).
Con alberi distribuzione in posizione
di riposo, azzerare il gioco valvola in
apertura inserendo la lama di uno
spessimetro (S), di spessore
adeguato, tra bilanciere superiore e
registro di apertura (3).
Verificare che in questa condizione
l’albero distribuzione possa muoversi;
se l’operazione risulta difficoltosa,
diminuire lo spessore (S) della lama
dello spessimetro.
In questa condizione, corrispondente
alla posizione di punto morto
superiore del pistone orizzontale
con valvole completamente chiuse,
rilevabile sul comparatore (G),
azzerare i calibri (F).
Montare le cinghie e tensionarle
come descritto alla Sez. N 4.2.
Ruotare in senso antiorario il
goniometro (E) fino a leggere sul
quadrante del calibro (F), sullo scarico,
un’alzata di
1 mm. Verificare che il
valore dello spostamento angolare
rilevato sul goniometro (E)
corrisponda a quello prescritto.
Continuare la rotazione nello stesso
senso fino a leggere un’alzata di
1 mm
sull’aspirazione. Verificare sul
goniometro il valore angolare.
Continuare la rotazione fino a
raggiungere il punto di chiusura
totale della valvola corrispondente
alla fase di scoppio.

Checking the engine
timing
Put the engine in the condition
described in “Checking and adjusting
valve clearance” above.
Install tool part no.
88765.1188 in
the spark plug bore to determine
piston's TDC, along with gauges (F)
88765.1181 and the timing check tool
(timing degree wheel 88713.0123
with graduated disk 98112.0002 ).
With the camshaft is in its rest
position, reset the valve opening
clearance by fitting a feeler gauge (S)
between the upper rocker arm and
opening shim (3).
Check that the camshaft can rotate.
If it moves stiffly, use a thinner
feeler gauge.
In this condition, with the piston of
the horizontal cylinder at TDC with
the valves fully closed as confirmed
by the reading of gauge (G), set the
gauges (F) to zero.
Refit the belts and tension them as
described in Sect. N 4.2.
Turn the degree wheel (G)
counterclockwise until the dial
gauge (F) on the exhaust side reads a
lift of
1 mm. Check that the angular
displacement reading in degrees on
the degree wheel (E) is as specified.
Continue to rotate in the same
direction until you obtain a
1 mm lift
on the intake side. Check the angular
value on the degree wheel.
Continue turning the shaft until you
reach total closure of the valve on
the expansion stroke.
