"behaviour" level previously selected by the rider.
Ducati Traction Control (DTC)
The Ducati Traction Control system (DTC) supervises
the rear wheel slipping control and settings vary
through eight different levels that are programmed to
offer a different tolerance level to rear wheel slipping.
Each Riding Mode features a pre-set intervention
level.
Level eight indicates system intervention whenever
a slight slipping is detected, while level one is for very
expert riders because it is less sensitive to slipping
and intervention is hence softer.
Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) 9.1 MP
The ABS 9.1 MP system fitted to the 1299 Panigale
is a safety system preventing wheel lockup while
riding with the motorcycle straight and not leaning
over. The 1299 Panigale ABS implements rear wheel
lift-up control in order to ensure not only smaller
stopping distance under braking, but also the best
possible stability.
The 1299 Panigale ABS also features a "cornering"
function that widens ABS functionality to the
conditions where the motorcycle is leaning over, thus
preventing wheel lockup and slipping as much as
possible, within the physical limits allowed by the
vehicle and by the road conditions.
ABS 9.1 MP system features 3 different levels of
intervention, one per Riding Mode. In RACE mode
the system only works on the front discs to ensure
top performance for track use. In the same way, also
the cornering feature depends on set level.
Ducati Quick Shift (DQS)
The Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) is a racing electronic
system managing gear change both for upshifting
and downshifting. It allows engaging gears in
acceleration without using the clutch: this allows
saving important fractions of a second because it is
not necessary to close the throttle. It also allows
downshifting without using the clutch, because it
performs an automatic and perfectly synchronised
blip when rider releases the pedal, ensuring smooth
gear engagement and letting the rider focus only on
braking and entering the bend.
