Preface
Thank you for choosing an anti-decubitus soft
positioning mattress from Drive Medical.
Please read these Operating Instructions through ca-
refully before using the product for the first time. They
contain important safety instructions and useful tips for
using and maintaining the GRAVIMED Protexx anti-decu-
bitus soft positioning mattress properly. If you have any
questions or require any additional information, please
contact the DRIVE MEDICAL dealer who supplied the
GRAVIMED Protexx to you.
Introduction
The GRAVIMED Protexx anti-decubitus soft positioning
mattress has been specially designed for the preventi-
on of pressure ulcers and therapeutic support up to and
including pressure ulcer category 3 and is suitable for
patients up to 140 kg.
The GRAVIMED Protexx has notches in the base layer
and a soft lying surface, in order to achieve the best pos-
sible cushioning and very good pressure distribution.
The extra soft heel comfort zone offers the very best
way to relieve the pressure on the heels.
The GRAVIMED Protexx can be used in a standard bed
or an electrically adjustable Hospital bed/bed insert
frame and is suitable for use in nursing and care homes.
We would particularly ask that you read the user inst-
ructions through carefully, so that you gain the desired
medical effect when using our product.
Note:
Using an anti-decubitus soft positioning mattress does
not replace regular repositioning of the patient!
Scope of delivery
Please check the contents for damage and make sure
that your delivery is complete. If any of the points listed
below are missing then please contact your dealer.
• GRAVIMED Protexx mattress

• Instructions for Use
The GRAVIMED Protexx has been compressed for ship-
ping. We would recommend that when you receive the
GRAVIMED Protexx, take it out of the shipping box and
store it flat. This guarantees that the foam core will unfold
completely and is able to recover.
