This guide describes how setup the StarterKit to run a wireless light control network.
Scope of Delivery
-
RaspBee Gateway, consisting of:
o
Raspberry Pi, RaspBee Premium shield, housing
o
Wall power supply
o
SD card (software pre-installed)
o
Ethernet cable
-
2 x Wireless electronic ballasts FLS-PP incl. RGB LED stripe segment (12 V )
Additionally Required Components
o
Power supply for FLS (12VDC, load matching connected illuminant)
o
WiFi router

o
Control unit (pc/ smartphone/ tablet) with browser
Hardware Setup
– RaspBee Gateway

Add the address of the gateway to your bookmarks for use of access.
1. Insert SD card.
2. Connect via Ethernet cable with router.
3. Establish power supply (use micro-USB
connector beside SD card slot).
4. Await the booting routine (duration approx.
one minute). Initially the LEDs on the
RaspBee shield blink green for a short time
and then shine continuously red.
Hardware Setup
– Wireless Electronic Ballasts
1. Connect FLS-PP with LED stripe.
2. Connect LED Power Supply to FLS.
Initially the illuminants shine
monochromatic white. They are
automatically searching for an open
ZigBee network and will join it. After
successful connection the color
changes to green.
The combination of FLS and illuminant will be referred to as
‘light’ below.
Setup Web Application
1. Open a browser on the control unit (PC, tablet, ...; needs
access to the local network).
2. Switch to Login page: http://raspbee-gw
If the page can’t be found, alternatively open the following
address (Internet connection necessary):
http://www.dresden-elektronik.de/discover. Click the
gateway-link there.
