Instructions for use
Polaris 600
When using two or more lights to illuminate the
operating field, observe the following to ensure
that the total permissible irradiance is not
exceeded:
– Set the lights to the minimum illuminance
required for appropriate illumination of the
operating field. If a higher illuminance is only
required temporarily, reduce the illuminance as
soon as it is no longer needed.
– If the maximum or nearly maximum illuminance
of a light is required, make sure that the
illuminance of the other lights is reduced and
that they do not illuminate the operating field.
Positioning the MedView camera
The MedView camera (A) is permanently
installed in the light head. It is located in a
segment next to the LED bulbs.
Position the light head so that the MedView
camera has an open field of view (B) at all
times.
The optimum distance between the MedView
camera (from the bottom glass of the light) and
the operating field is 90 cm to 130 cm (35.43 in
to 51.18 in).
CAUTION
Risk of personal injury
The user's eyes can be damaged by direct
exposure to light.
Do not look directly into the light field.
CAUTION
Risk of property damage
The light heads may overheat during operation.
Position the light heads so that their light fields do
not illuminate other light heads.
NOTE
A distance of 100 cm (39.37 in) from the bottom
glass of the light to the operating field is
recommended to achieve the optimum
illumination of the operating field.
