5 Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
When the full face mask is cleaned and disinfected manually, the
communication unit can remain fitted onto the full face mask. However,
it can also be cleaned separately: It is not necessary to disinfect the
communication unit.
1. Clean communication unit with lukewarm water with the addition
of Sekusept
®
cleaner and a soft cloth clean (temperature: max.
30 °C, concentration depending on the degree of pollution:) 0.5 -
1 %)

. Tough dirt marks can be removed using a soft brush. In the
process, ensure that the loudspeakers are not touched with the
brush.
2. Thoroughly rinse all parts under running water.
3. Dry all parts either at least 12 hours in the air or 30 to 60 minutes
in a drying cabinet (temperature: max. 60°C). Keep out of direct
sunlight.
4. Check whether earphones, fixing eyelets, or fixing lugs are
damaged. Replace damaged earphones or fixing eyelets. Replace
damaged or missing seals.
If the fixing lugs on the visor frame are damaged, the visor frame
of the full face mask must be replaced.
Contact DrägerService in case of other damage.
5.2 Maintenance work
CAUTION
Health hazard!
The undiluted agents are harmful to health if they come into
direct contact with eyes or skin. Wear goggles and protective
gloves when working with these agents.
Potential damage to component parts!
For cleaning and disinfecting only apply the described
procedures and use the specified cleaning agents and
disinfectants. Other agents and procedures, dosages and
exposure times can damage component parts.
Radio connection cable or Bluetooth adapter may remain
attached to the communication unit. The plug inserted into the
radio unit may not be immersed in water.
Alternatively, the blind cap should be attached to the radio
connector. If the contacts of the radio connector on the
communication unit are open, water can penetrate into the
communication unit and damage it.

The actual drying time required can vary greatly depending
on climatic influences.
CAUTION
During assembly work the specified torques must be
observed, otherwise the communication unit could be
damaged. Use suitable tool.
