3.5.5 Special Version for ESD Applications
If ESUC is designed as ESD version, it can also be used in ESD areas.
Products in ESD version are marked with the following inscription:
The housing of ESUC is constructed of special materials or with a surface coating con-
forming to DIN EN 61340-5-1:2017-07, so that ESD relevant surface charges or undesir-
able discharges cannot occur.
As opposed to the non-ESD version, the ESD version of ESUC incorporates:
▪ Housing paint:
– ESD powder paint
– Surface resistance conforming to DIN EN 61340-5-1:2017-07
– Leakage resistance (resistance to earthing point or PE conductor) conforming to
DIN EN 61340-5-1:2017-07
▪ ESD compliant levelling feet or rollers
▪ Supply for ESD ionisers:
– Integrated HV module
– External HV power supply in "Balanced" version to minimise the residual charge
– Integrated control module for connecting the ESD ionisers PRECISION
▪ If required, ESD compatible version of the compressed air hose (provided by the
customer)
(All conversions to this design can be realised on customers’ request and supplied as a
special version at additional cost.)
NOTICE
Equipment damage due to electrostatic discharge
Electrostatic discharge can cause defects in customer's electronic components en-
dangered by ESD.
w
Assure personal earthing via wrist and shoe earthing.
w
Wear only clothes which are static dissipative and closed.
