Problem: Lost NetGuardian Password
Platform: NetGuardian 832A & 216T
Have you lost your NetGuardian password and no longer
have access to the unit? You can reset your NetGuardian
password and regain access.
Resetting your NetGuardian password involves just a few
quick steps. The procedure varies by NetGuardian model.
Use the following “techno knowledge” paper to reset your
NetGuardian password.
This “techno knowledge” paper can help you if:

Power down the
NetGuardian
Connect your PC to
the NetGuardian
front craft port
Create a new
HyperTerminal
connection
Remove the
top cover
Move Switch 1
of the DIP
switch to 'ON'
Power up the
NetGuardian
Navigate to the
NVRAM menu
and reinitialize the
NetGuardian
Exit out of the
NetGuardian
menus
Power down the
NetGuardian
Return Switch 1
of the DIP switch
to 'OFF'
Replace the
top cover
Power up the
NetGuardian
