Dupline 1-way Relay Output DSM 1U 

7. General Information

The DSM 1U is a component of the Dupline installation system and permits the switching
of one load which may have a current consumption of up to 13 A.
Because of its small dimensions it is especially suitable for fitting into flush-mounted
sockets or other small spaces.
The DSM 1U does not require an external power supply as it is supplied by the Dupline
signal.
A faulty Dupline signal will result in the output's being automatically switched on or off:
this status can be preprogrammed with the DHK 1

8. Coding

With the DHK 1 hand encoder the switching channel can be assigned any address be-
tween A1 and P8 via the flat-plug connection behind the cover on the front of the
DSM 1U.
The channel allocation is as follows:

The encoding of the DSM 1U requires neither a supply voltage nor a Dupline signal and
is carried out with the aid of the DKP 2 flat-plug coding cable. Attention should be paid to
the correct polarity of the coding cable; incorrect polarity will not, however, cause perma-
nent damage. Although the coding is permanently retained, it may be overwritten at any
time.
The output is preconfigured at the works so that it is switched on if a bus failure occurs.
This configuration can also be changed with the DHK 1 (as described in the operating in-
structions for the DHK 1). If the value "0" is configured, the output is switched off in the
event of a bus failure; if "1" is set, it is switched on.

9. Putting into Service

The installation may only be carried out by an authorised trained technician. Follow the
connection diagram in chapter 12 on page 8 when installing. All lines to be connected
must be dead.
Check that the polarity of the Dupline signal is correct. Connections between the Dupline
signal and earth potential will cause malfunctions and are not permissible.
