Using 1Seg

1Seg is a service provided by TV broadcasters

(broadcasting stations). No communication

charges apply for receiving video and audio. For

viewing fee for NHK, contact NHK.

• Packet communication charges apply for browsing "Data

broadcasting site" and "i-mode site". Some sites (fee-

based i-mode sites)require an information fee for use.

• For details on "1Seg" service, visit websites below.

Signal

1Seg is one of the broadcasting services, and

receives a signal (broadcast wave) different

from the FOMA service. In the following places,

data reception may become weak and cause

difficulties in receiving messages.

• Place that is far from the tower which sends the broadcast

wave

•  Mountain areas or behind a building
•  In a tunnel, underground, or recess of a building
*  The signal condition may be improved by moving the

FOMA terminal away from or close to you, or by moving

yourself to another place.

Battery level

If you try to use 1Seg when the battery level

is low, the battery alert tone sounds and a

confirmation screen appears asking whether

to activate 1Seg. Also, when the battery level

becomes low while watching or recording a 1Seg

program, the battery alert tone sounds.

Messages on the screen when you use
1Seg for the first time

When you use 1Seg for the first time after purchase, a

confirmation screen of escape clause appears.
Read each clause and press

[OK]. After this, a

confirmation screen does not appear.
