Updating software
Starting an update
Perform any of the following to start an update.

From an update notification
In the status bar, select the notification "Software
update notified" or "Software update available" and
start the update.
z
From a pop-up prompting an update
Once notification of an update has arrived, the pop-up
"An update is available" is displayed regularly. Select
[OK] in the pop-up and start the update.

From handset settings
In the standby screen,

▶ [Settings] ▶ [About phone] ▶
[Software update], and start the upate. If software has
already been updated, "No update required. Use your
device as it is." appears.
Update procedure
Perform an update as follows. Follow the handset screen
for instructions.

Download and install the update file
The confirmations "Perform Now" and "Later" may
appear before the update file is downloaded and
installed. If a confirmation is displayed, select either
of the following to proceed with the update.
(1) Select "Perform Now"
Immediately download or install the update file.
(2) Select "Later"
Specify a time to download or install the update
file.
A recommended time to download or install is
prespecified. To change the time to download or
install, select [Change schedule] and specify a
time.

To change this time later, in the standby screen,
z
▶ [Settings] ▶ [About phone] ▶ [Software
update] ▶ [Change schedule], and set the time.

Restart the handset
z
Once the update is ready, the handset restarts
automatically.
z
Confirmation appears just before the handset
restarts. To stop the handset from restarting,
select "cancel" within a certain period of time.

Notification that the update is complete
z
After the update completes successfully, "Software
update completed" appears in the status bar.
