Pumping Down the MSQ
Pumping down is necessary in order to create a high vacuum within the
system.
To pump down the MSQ, right-click on the MSQ server icon on the
Windows taskbar and choose
Pump
.
As the MSQ is pumping down, the server light will be flashing amber.
When it is pumped down, the light will remain amber but stop flashing.
Reaching high vacuum takes approximately 5 minutes. If the MSQ has not
reached vacuum after 10 minutes (the server light may still be flashing
amber or may be red), check for leaks in the system. See the
Troubleshooting
chapter for advice.
You can also monitor the vacuum status of the instrument by observing the
status light on the front of the instrument. For more information about the
