3. REVIEW AND EVALUATION OF THE STATUS OF THE ELECTRODES

When there is a solution in the measuring chamber, the analyzer can measure the voltage (mV)
in the electrode train, proportional to the concentration of each electrolyte.

The observed voltage allows the operator to evaluate:

•

Electrode Stability: Voltage without significant variations implies stable electrodes (it is

necessary to wait a stabilization time -15 seconds- from when the sample is loaded).

•

Electrode Gain: Differences between the voltages generated by the StdA and the StdB.

In some cases it may be useful to determine the voltage generated by certain samples in the
measuring chamber.

The positioning of each calibrator solution or sample in the measuring chamber can be done
both manually (manual window) and automatically (automatic window). Please note that the
standards that are consumed from the pack in Manual Mode will not be discounted, so the Pack
will actually have less liquid than the one reported.
