1) Remove the printer cover and position the unit so that you are facing the front panel.
2) Using a flat blade (—) screwdriver, loosen the two screws holding the battery compartment’s
cover plate in place, located on either side of the back of the paper roll.
Note that these screws cannot be removed completely from the cover plate .
3) Raise the cover plate slightly and slide it towards the front of the unit until the tabs at the rear
of the cover plate are clear of the power supply housing. Make sure that the flanges with the
screws clear the paper roll holder.
4) Rotate the top of the cover plate toward the front of the unit, and lift it up to clear the paper roll
holder. Set the cover plate aside.
5) Make a note of the battery’s orientation, then disconnect the spade lug connectors from the
terminals on the battery and remove the battery from its housing. See Figure 5-3.
