DH-LSPZ.05 / DH-LSPZ.07 with half-width or foldable platform ● TAIL LIFT TERMINOLOGY
See figure below page for parts corresponding to numbers in this table
#
Description
1
Lift frame
: mounted in a fixed position under the vehicle chassis. It bears the platform and its load via connection to the lift
arms and hydraulic cylinders. The arm width (narrow or wide) depends on the technical parameters of the vehicle (brand,
wheelbase, overhang dimension).
2
Mounting plates
: used to mount the lift frame to the vehicle chassis.
3
Half-width or foldable platform
: carries the load during loading / unloading, lifting / lowering. Manufactured from light-weight
aluminium and with a non-slip working surface.
3a
Platform main section
: platform section supported by the tilt cylinder. This section stands on the opposite side of the door
panel (L or R) that opens up first.
3b
Flip-over point
: foldable section, not supported by the tilt cylinder. This section stands on the same side as the door panel
(L or R) that opens up first.
3c
Platform stow lock
(on all platforms): mechanical lock to prevent the platform from falling open in case of accidental loss of
hydraulic pressure in the TILT circuit.
3d
Platform fold lock
(on foldable platforms): mechanical lock to hold the 2 folding sections together while the tail lift is stowed
in its travel position.
3e
Cart stops
: usually 2 load restraint flaps mounted just near the outboard platform edge. Depending on options chosen, the
cart stops feature a manual or automatic operation (see also 9.8 page 44)
4
Lift arms L+R
: actuated by the hydraulic lift cylinders, used to LIFT / LOWER the platform and its load.
5
Lift cylinders L+R
: 1 or 2 hydraulic cylinder(s) used to LIFT / LOWER the lift arms, the platform and its load.
6
Tilt cylinder
: hydraulic cylinder, mounted at the rear face of the platform, used to OPEN / CLOSE the platform, or to change
its angle when opened in work position.
7
Hydraulic memory cylinder
: hydraulic cylinder, mounted on the lift frame, used to actuate the automatic auto-tilt at ground
level. (see also 9.1 page 29)
8
Hydraulic pump unit
: contains the electric motor driving the hydraulic pump, the oil tank, and the control valves.
9
Towing hitch construction
: optional mounting construction for a towing hitch.
10
Main external control box
: mounted in a fixed position at the side of the vehicle, integrated in the body panel, or executed
as a wireless portable control. Contains the electrical switches allowing the operator to execute all tail lift functions OPEN -
LOWER - LIFT - CLOSE.
11
Center point of maximum load
: point up to which the maximum rated capacity of the tail lift is valid. Beyond that point, the
maximum safe working load diminishes according to the applicable load charts found at Section 8 of this manual.
