These instructions are intended to be used as a quick reference. They are not a substitute for reading the
operator’s manual. Be sure that the operator is familiar will all aspects of the device before use.
POWER MODES
ON/OFF:
To manually t urn on t he device, press t he PWR key. To t urn of f t he device, press and hold t he PWR key unt il
t he screen goes blank.
STANDBY:
The device w ill ent er St andby af t er 1 minut e of inact ivit y. This is indicat ed by a blinking black box. Press t he
PWR key t o bring t he device out of St andby.
SLEEP:
The device w ill ‘ Sleep’ after an additional 3 minutes of inactivity. The screen w ill go blank. Press the PWR key to
bring the device out of ‘ Sleep’ .
OBTAINING MEASUREMENTS (Continuous Averaging Mode)
See section 8 of the operator’s manual for instructions on obtaining measurements using the Pachmate 2.
POWER ON:
Turn on t he device by pressing t he PWR key. The device w ill perf orm self -t est s and
t hen display t he measurement screen.
SELECT EYE:
OD or OS w ill be displayed in t he corner (OD by def ault ). This is t he eye t hat is being
measured. Press t he OD or OS key t o change w hich eye is being measured.
MEASURE FIRST EYE:
Gent ly applanat e t he probe t ip t o t he cornea at a perpendicular angle
t o init iat e measurement . The device w ill aut omat ically begin t aking measurement s of t he f irst eye.
PAUSE:
Af t er all measurement s are t aken f or t he f irst eye, t he device w ill emit t w o long beeps
and pause f or 4 seconds bef ore sw it ching t o t he ot her eye f or measurement .
MEASURE SECOND EYE:
Gent ly applanat e t he probe t ip t o t he cornea at a perpendicular angle t o
init iat e measurement . The device w ill aut omat ically begin t aking measurement s of t he second eye.
MEASUREMENT COMPLETE:
Af t er all measurement s are t aken f or t he second eye, t he device w ill beep
and pause 4 seconds. It w ill t hen ret urn t o t he f irst eye f or review .
REVIEWING MEASUREMENTS (Continuous Averaging Mode)
SELECT EYE:
Press t he OD or OS key t o review t he measurement s f or t he corresponding eye.

Indicat es t hat t he measurement displayed (AAAµ) is t he average of ## single
measurement s.
Std Dv:
Show s t he calculat ed St andard Deviat ion (B.Bµ).
SCROLL MEASUREMENTS:
Press t he

key t o scroll t hrough t he individual measurement s.
Mea ##:
## indicat es w hich measurement is being show n, and t he measurement (CCCµ).
DELETE A MEASUREMENT:
If a measurement seems erroneous, press t he DEL key w hile it is
being displayed and it w ill be delet ed. The device w ill recalculat e t he average and st andard deviat ion of t he remaining
measurement s.
CLEARING MEASUREMENTS
CURRENT PATIENT CLEAR MENU
: Press t he CLR key t o ent er t he Clear Menu. Press t he

t he clearing opt ions. The f ollow ing opt ions apply t o t he pat ient current ly being view ed:
All Current Meas:
Clears all OD and OS measurement s of t he current pat ient .
OD Current Meas:
Clears all OD measurement s of t he current pat ient .
OS Current Meas:
Clears all OS measurement s of t he current pat ient .
Nothing (Exit):
Exit s t he menu w it hout clearing any measurement s.
