Important Safety Instructions
•
Read and understand tool instruction manual before attempting
repairs.
•
Use only genuine D
E
WALT replacement parts.
•
Always wear ANSI compliant eye protection.
•
Disconnect air from tool and remove all nails before servicing.
•
Always point tool in safe direction when reconnecting air supply.
CAUTIONS:
•
Do not allow dirt, dust or other foreign materials to enter the tool.
•
Be careful not to scratch or damage the O-rings or any internal
surfaces.
TO REPLACE PISTON/DRIVER ASSEMBLY
1. Disconnect air from tool before servicing or repairing.
2. Remove all nails from the magazine and nosepiece before servic-
ing or repairing.
3. Remove 4 screws from top cap (A) with the 4mm Allen wrench
provided with tool (Fig. 1).
4. Remove piston/driver subassembly (B), cylinder (C), bumper (D),
bumper plate (E) and bulkhead (F) from tool (Fig. 2).
5. Remove bumper plate (E) by pulling sideways (Fig. 3).
6. Remove piston/driver subassembly (B) from cylinder.
7. Place piston O-ring (G) on piston/driver subassembly (Fig. 4).
8. Apply grease provided to O-ring prior to assembly.
9. Ensure the inside of the tool is free from dirt and debris.
10. Place piston/driver subassembly (B) back into cylinder (C).
11. Place bumper (D) onto bottom of cylinder.
12. Spread bumper plate (E) enough to slip onto piston/driver
subassembly (B) and press into the bottom of the bumper (D).
13. Place cylinder assembly back into frame housing, pressing bulk-
head firmly into position (Fig. 5).
14. Place the top gasket (H) between the top cap and frame (Fig. 6).
15. Replace top cap and fasten 4 screws with a 4mm Allen wrench.
16. Tighten screws snugly to prevent leaks.
17. Ensure trigger and contact trip are working smoothly.
18. Set pressure on compressor or air line at 80 psi.
19. Pointing tool in safe direction, connect tool to air supply. Tool must
not leak air.
20. Check for proper operation of tool. If tool continues to leak air or if
problems persist, take nailer to a D
E
WALT service center.
21. If warning labels are missing or damaged, request replacements
from a D
E
WALT service center.

POUR CHANGER L’ENSEMBLE PISTON/ENFONCEUR
1. Débrancher l’outil du circuit d’alimentation en air avant d’effectuer
les opérations d’entretien ou de réparation.
2. Retirer tous les clous du chargeur et de l’embout avant d’effectuer
les opérations d’entretien ou de réparation.
3. Retirer les 4 vis du capuchon (A) à l’aide de la clé Allen de 4 mm
fournie avec l’outil (Fig. 1).
4. Retirer le sous-ensemble piston/enfonceur (B), le cylindre (C), la
butée (D), la plaque de butée (E) et le boîtier (F) de l’outil (Fig. 2).
5. Retirer la plaque de butée (E) en la tirant de côté (Fig. 3).
6. Retirer le sous-ensemble piston/enfonceur (B) du cylindre.
7. Mettre le joint torique du piston (G) sur le sous-ensemble
piston/enfonceur (Fig. 4).
8. Appliquer la graisse fournie à cet effet sur le joint torique avant de
réassembler le tout.
