Powering your unit on
To power your MRD-51 stereo on plug it in, switch the ON/OFF switch
on rear to ON and then press in / click in briefly the VOLUME/POWER
STANDBY control knob on the front of the stereo.
If the POWER light comes on when switching the rear ON/OFF switch
to ON (circled in image here) but pressing the VOLUME/POWER
STANDBY control knob does not click in and does not power the stereo
on then simply pull the control knob off of the stereo by pulling it away
from the stereo. (The control knob will slide on & off of the spindle).
Now slide it back on to that same spindle without pressing it too hard
back on. You should now find your VOLUME/POWER STANDBY control
knob “clicks” when briefly pressed in and does now power the stereo
on & off.
Bluetooth
IMPORTANT:
When using Bluetooth always make sure your source device (i.e. your phone or tablet) has its volume
turned up to at least 60% or more (once you have connected your source device to the stereo via Bluetooth). If your
source device has its volume level turned down lower than approximately 60% the audio produced via the MRD-51 is
low quality and has interference. You will also find that if your source device does not have its audio volume level
turned up to 60% or more then Bluetooth connection drops out after 15 minutes and ceases to function unless you
reconnect to the stereo.
DAB tuning
1. Power up your MRD-51 by pressing in the
VOLUME/POWER
control knob on the stereo or using the POWER
button on remote
2. Repeatedly press
FUNCTION
button on stereo (or
MODE
button on remote) to change stereo to DAB MODE
3. Make sure your aerial cable is unravelled and placed as high as possible for best reception
4. Press
SCAN
button on stereo to start a scan for all
available channels.
Scanning
will be shown on the radios
screen – as seen here:
5. The radio runs through all available stations– the stereo
will show you how many radio stations it has found on
screen to the right hand side of the screen (circled in the
image here 8 channels have been found so far).
6. Once scanning has completed use the
UP
or
DN
(down)
buttons on the front of the stereo to browse through the
DAB radio channels the stereo has found
When we ran our channel scan the first channel found, once tuning was complete, was not one the radio could be
tuned in to (as signal strength was just that bit too low) and so stereo showed “
No service available
” on screen.
If you see this just browse to the next available DAB channel by pressing UP or DN button
