Syntax:

CONST constname = expr

Parameter:

constname

A label, identifier, or string expression of a maximum of 10 characters con-
sisting of alphanumerics and period (.).

expr

A string constant

Description:

CONST

replaces a label, identifier or a character string specified by

constname

with a string constant defined by

expr

before compiling.

•

expr

may contain labels defined by other

CONST

declarations. However, calling

those labels each other (recursively) will result in an error.

• A

CONST

statement can appear anywhere in your source program. However, it

will take effect from a program line following the

CONST

declaration.
