DEMA MODEL 466PV SOLENOID VALVE

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

1. INSTALLATION:

Inlet and outlet connections are 3/4" taper pipe threads. Valve may be mounted in any position, but fluid must enter
the connection marked "IN". The solenoid coil is provided with a conduit boss, 1/2" straight pipe threads. The leads
must be connected to 12V DC power. The coil and housing may be swiveled in any direction.

2. OPERATION:

WARNING: Use Care When Handling Hazardous Chemicals.

When the solenoid coil is energized the plunger is pulled to the top plug, thus opening the small "pilot" port. This
releases the pressure on the top of the diaphragm allowing incoming pressure to lift it and open the large center port.

When the coil is de-energized the solenoid plunger is pushed from the top plug by the kick off spring and closes the
pilot port. Fluid passes through the small diaphragm bleed hole until pressure is equalized on both sides of the
diaphragm. The closing spring then causes the diaphragm to shut off the larger port.

CAUTION: If wettable powders are used, FLUSH WITH WATER AFTER USE.

3. SPECIFICATIONS:

Capacity: C

v

flow factor 10 for sp. gr. 1 fluids.

10 GPM with 1 PSI pressure drop.
22 GPM with 5 PSI pressure drop.
31 GPM with 10 PSI pressure drop.

Maximum operating pressure differential: 75 PSI
Maximum safe working pressure: 100 PSI
Electrical: I2V DC, 15 Watts, 1-1/4 Amps.

4. TROUBLE SHOOTING:

A. Coil Burnout:

1) Caused by overvoltage.

B. Failure to open:

1) No power or low voltage.
2) Open circuit or burned out coil.
3) Pressure differential above 75 PSI.
4) Solenoid plunger movement impaired by dirt or damaged enclosing tube.

C. Failure to close:

1) Coil still energized.
2) Valve installed backwards.
3) Dirt on solenoid plunger seat.
4) Dirt on main port seat or in diaphragm bleed hole.
