3. Continue to pull the drawer open, carefully controlling the speed at which it opens, until you can reach the
drive or control module you need to access.
Caution:
Be careful when opening the array drawer -- it is heavy. Open the drawer slowly, so that it does not
have a lot of momentum as it slides open. If the drawer slides out too quickly, it could damage its housing. It
could also break free of its housing and fall on the floor, causing damage to array and injury to nearby people.
Closing the Array Drawer
For proper operation, the array inner drawer must be completely closed and secured within its housing. You can
open the drawer briefly to replace a failed component, but do not leave it open for long periods of time —
leaving it open disrupts the flow of air that cools the drives and could lead to overheating.
When you have finished working on the array components within the array drawer, close it immediately. To
close the array drawer:
1. Press gently on the front panel of the array, pushing the drawer all the way into its enclosure. See
