Shutting Down and Restarting the Array
You can shut down a PS Series array using the Group Manager GUI or the CLI over a telnet or serial
connection, but this does not turn off power to the array or the enclosure.
A PS Series array includes hot-swappable drives and control modules (in a dual redundant module array). You
can remove a faulty component without affecting operation if a functioning component is available. Otherwise, it
is recommended that you cleanly shut down the array and turn power OFF by partially or fully removing the
array before removing a component.
Note:
Be aware that the power is still ON while the array is in the chassis.
Note:
When an array is shut down, any volumes with data on the array are set offline until the array is restarted.
This may affect initiators that are connected to the volumes.
