Figure 34 Removing cooling fan

Install a cooling fan

The cooling fans are hot swappable. To maintain proper cooling while the server is on,
replace only one fan at a time.

Before you begin

Follow all safety guidelines.

CAUTION

Opening or removing the system cover when the server is on may expose you to a
risk of electric shock. Exercise utmost care while removing or installing cooling
fans.

Procedure

1. Holding the touch points on the cooling fan, align the connector on the cooling

fan with the connector on the system board.

2. Slide the cooling fan into the cooling fan assembly until the release tab locks

into place.
