Before you begin

The TFTP service must be installed, configured, and active, on the AMP server where the
configuration repository exists.
•
Obtain log on credentials for the device configuration backup.
•
Obtain the network IP address of the configuration backup repository.
•
Obtain the device name and type that matches the model abbreviation used to create the
repository sub-directory structure. For example:
\6100\config\
filename
Procedure
Create and run the backup using either the Cisco UCS Manager GUI or CLI.

Back up the Cisco UCS fabric interconnects configuration using the Cisco UCS Manager GUI.
About this task
Creating a backup is a one-time only task.
Procedure

Log on to the Cisco UCS Manager using administrator privileges.

To create the backup, perform the following steps:
a
From the
Navigation
window, select the
Admin
tab.
b
Click the
All
node.
c
From the
Work
window, select the
General
tab.
d
In the
Actions
area, select
Backup
. (for UCSM 2.x).

In the
Actions
area, select
Backup Configuration
. (for UCS 3.x)
f
In the
Backup Configuration
window, select
Create Backup Operation
.
g
Set
Admin State
to
Disabled
.
h
Set
Type
to
Full State
.
i
Select the
Preserve Identifies
checkbox.
j
Click
OK
.
k
If a confirmation window appears, click
OK
.

To run the backup, perform the following:

From the
Navigation
window, select the
Admin
tab.
