Procedure
1. Package the faulted part in the shipping box that contained the replacement
part, and seal the box.
2. Ship the failed part to your service provider as described in the instructions that
were included with the replacement part.

If your screen does not show the Return a Part option, contact your service
provider for instructions on what to do next.
Add an I/O module
Take the following actions to install a new I/O module into the system.
If you are adding a 4-port SAS I/O module and connecting an 80-drive DAE that
requires x8 connectivity, insert the SAS cable into the 4-port SAS I/O module before
persisting the I/O module. The 4-port SAS I/O module must be persisted with the
cable inserted for x8 connectivity.
Note
If the SAS back-end I/O module is powered on without any cables inserted, it is
automatically set at x4 and cannot be used for x8 lane cabling.
Locating a slot for a new I/O module
Locate the slot with the I/O filler module that you want to replace with the new I/O
module.
Remove a filler I/O module
Procedure
1. Pull the trigger mechanism on the filler I/O module handle to release it.
2. Gently pull the filler module from the slot.
Install a new I/O module
Procedure
1. Align the module with the empty slot and carefully push the module into the
slot.
