1. Check all prerequisites were followed before updating the firmware.
• To recover the controller:
◦ If the firmware update fails, the controller rack needs to be powered off and on to clear the
update attempt.
◦ Ensure you follow all prerequisites before attempting to update the software.

2. Firmware update has failed to apply or becomes stuck.
• Check the LED indication on both PSM3.1 and PCM3.1 modules.
• If the PCM3.1 System status LED
and PSM3.1 Internal communication status LED
are
flashing for more than one minute, the software update has failed to apply correctly.
◦ To recover this situation, the controller rack needs to be powered off and on to clear the
update attempt.
◦ Launch PICUS and with the controller selected, use
Initial DL
option.
◦ You can then attempt updating the firmware again.

Problem
Unable to locate previously saved file(s) with PICUS.
Possible cause(s)
• File(s) have been saved on a network drive.

PICUS may not be able to access network drive paths, depending upon your IT system.

• Check the file(s) have been saved to a local drive.
◦ Move the file(s) to a local drive if necessary.
◦ Attempt to locate the file(s) again.
