16 System security
For functions with which external access is required, the
corresponding ports on the system must be open.
For system security reasons, the number of open ports should be
kept to a minimum. This is already carried out at the factory by
blocking the ports definitely not required for Dallmeier systems.
The few ports which are still relevant are enabled in the default
setting to ensure full compatibility to the other Dallmeier units. If
certain ports are not required for the current recorder configuration,
they can be deactivated in the System Security dialog.
For example, if the time setting of your system is not made by
external systems (time servers), then the port for Timeserver can
be deactivated.
This dialog is accessed via:
Setup > System > System Security

Only activate the ports for which the related function is required
by marking the checkbox accordingly.
