5.3 Gain Control
The
tHost™
and
t43™
are equipped with digital attenuators for adjusting the signal level of the DL and signals. The
attenuators provide an attenuation adjustment range of 30 dB in steps of 1 dB. The attenuators are controlled via
the GUI.
The
tHost™
DL attenuator adjusts the level of the input RF signal. An input signal with a composite level of maximum
-7dBm can be adjusted to produce maximum output power of +43 dBm (maximum system Gain of +50 dB).
The
t43™
DL attenuator provides the flexibility to adjust the output power for a particular remote (since the
tHost™
serves multiple
t43™
s and its gain will be constant), from m43 dBm to minimum of +13 dBm.
The
t43™
UL attenuator can be used to fine tune UL system gain for particular remote unit, since
tHost™
serves
multiple
t43™
s and its UL gain will be constant.
The
tHost™
UL attenuator adjusts the level of the output RF signal. For
t43™
UL attenuator fixed to 0 dB, it can
provide system Gain from +20 dB to +50 dB.
The DAS system measures power levels of all input and output RF signals:
•
Band 1 to 4 DL input power (
tHost™
)
•
Band 1 to 4 UL output power (
tHost™
)
•
Band 1 and 2 DL output power (
t
43™)
•
Band1 and 2 UL input power
Power level readings are calibrated during manufacturing process to provide reading accuracy < + 1 dB.
Corresponding
Actual
Gain
s are calculated by subtracting output power reading from the input power reading.
Calculated actual gains are presented in the
t43™
main GUI screen.
