5 OPERATION
This Section outlines steps for powering up the DAS system and verifying proper operation. This procedure
assumes that the
tHost™
s and
t43™
s have been installed in accordance with the process outlined in Section 4.
5.1 Pre-Operation Procedure
5.1.1
tHost™
Installation Checkup
1. Verify that
tHost™
power switch is in OFF position.
2. Ensure that 5 A GMT fuse is installed in the circuit that supplies power to the
tHost™
.
3. Verify that DC voltage level at the
tHost™
power connection is n 48 VDC (use DC voltmeter).
4. Verify that all RF cables, fiber cables, and DC cables are connected to the
tHost™
, and properly secured.
5.1.2
t43™
Installation Checkup
5. Set circuit breaker located inside AC breaker box that supplies power to
t43™
, to ON position.
6. Verify that AC voltage level at the junction box is between 110 and 120 VAC (use AC voltmeter).
7. Verify that all RF cables, fiber cables, and DC cables are connected to the
tHost™
, and properly secured.
5.2 System Power Up
System power-up encompasses: turning on the power for
tHost™
and
t43™
, accessing the M&C software
application (IP addresses acquiring), setting the site ID’s (operator ID, location ID, and base station ID), adjusting
channel frequency (channel selective DAS only), adjusting DL and UL Gain, and adjusting DL and UL delay.
5.2.1 Access to M&C Software Application
The Dali DAS management system is an embedded software application that runs on a web server supported by
the onboard Linux OS. It is accessed via IP connection using a Web browser. This application provides intuitive
Graphical User Interface (GUI) for Monitoring and Control (M&C) of a Dali Transcend DAS network.
Through the “Remote” port, the
tHost™
provides a single IP interface to the network. This address can be customer
assigned to a static value or dynamically set from a third party DHCP server. There is also a fixed internal private
IP range of 172.17.16.0/20 which is available through the “Local” port on the
tHost™
.
The
tHost™
will be assigned an address of 172.17.17.17. The
t43™
s and
t30™
s will be assigned addresses in the
range of 172.17.17.101 to 172.17.17.199.
