damage is found file a claim with the carrier. Inform Dali customer service.
2. Unpack each box, check for damage, and verify content using the packing slip. If damage is found, or
parts are missing, file a claim with the carrier. Inform Dali customer service.
4.2 DAU Installation
4.2.1 DAU Mounting
The DAU is a one rack unit (1RU) high assembly that mounts inside standard 19” equipment rack. In a case of
mount in 23” equipment rack, proper adapters shall be used. Locate space required to mount the DAU inside
Base Station enclosure (or close to it).
1. Ensure that easy access to the RF, Fiber, DC (back of the unit), and Network (front of the unit) connectors
is available.
2. Use provided screws to attach the DAU to the equipment rack.
4.2.2 Cables Installation
Ensure that all RF cables and attenuators used to connect Base Station to the DAU are tested and Insertion Loss
and Return Loss information logged.
Ensure continuity and quality of the optical fiber cables that connect DAU with DRUs. Conduct necessary testing
or obtain valid test data. Professionally clean the fiber connectors prior connecting to DAU optical interfaces.
Refer to Section 7.2 for optical connector cleaning procedure.
3. Connect and secure Ground wire to ground stud mounted on DAU back panel. A #6 copper wire
connected to included ring lug must be furnished by installer to provide low resistance link between the
DAU and earth ground source.
4. Connect and secure RF cables to Band1 Tx/Rx and Diversity Rx coaxial female N-type connectors, and
Band2 Tx/Rx and Diversity Rx coaxial female N-type connectors, all located on the DAU back panel.
5. Connect fiber cables to pluggable SC/APC type optical connectors located on the DAU back panel.
6. Connect and secure DC cable to the DAU DC connector provided on the back panel. The DAU is
powered by n 48 VDC. This power shall be provided through a fuse panel, and protected with 5A
GMT fuse.
a. Obtain a cable with two #18 AWG insulated copper wires (colored red and black) and furnish one
end with a 2 socket female connector provided with the unit.
b. Turn DAU power switch OFF (located on the front panel)
