Glass panel hangs up or snaps between vent

and open.

POSSIBLE CAUSE

Glass panel improperly adjusted.

•

Opening weatherstrip has inconsistent compres-

sion.

SYMPTOM

Open sunroof rattles while driving.

POSSIBLE CAUSE

•

Loose attaching hardware.

•

Weak springs on wind deflector.

SYMPTOM

Closed sunroof rattles while driving.

POSSIBLE CAUSE

•

Loose attaching hardware.

•

Wire harness or cables improperly secured.

•

Wind deflector contacting glass panel or drain

trough.

SUNROOF CONTROL SWITCH

REMOVAL

(1) Remove overhead console.
(2) Disengage wire connector from sunroof control

switch.

(3) Disengage clips holding switch to overhead con-

sole.

(4) Separate switch from console.

INSTALLATION

(1) Push switch into hole in overhead console until

retaining clips engage.

(2) Engage wire connector into sunroof control

switch.

(3) Install overhead console.

SUNROOF MODULE

REMOVAL (FIG. 1)

(1) Disconnect battery negative cable.
(2) Remove headlining.
(3) Disengage wire connector from electronic con-

troller.

(4) Disengage hose clamps and separate drain

tubes from sunroof module.

(5) Using a suitable marking device, mark outline

of sunroof module on inside of roof panel to aid in-
stallation.

(6) Remove bolts holding sunroof module to roof

forward flange.

(7) Remove bolts holding sunroof module to brack-

ets along side rails. Do not remove brackets from
roof.

(8) With the aid of a helper, remove bolts holding

sunroof module to roof panel.

(9) Separate sunroof module from roof panel.
(10) Extract sunroof module through rear door

opening.

INSTALLATION

(1) Insert sunroof module into vehicle through rear

door opening.

(2) With the aid of a helper, place sunroof module

in position on roof panel.

(3) Install bolts to hold sunroof module to roof

panel. Do not secure bolts.

(4) Align index mark outline inside of roof panel to

sunroof module and secure bolts.

(5) Install bolts to hold sunroof module to brackets

along side rails.

(6) Install bolts to hold sunroof module to roof for-

ward flange.

(7) Install drain tubes onto sunroof module and en-

gage hose clamps.

(8) Engage wire connector into electronic control-

ler.

(9) Install headlining.
(10) Connect battery negative cable.

SUNROOF POSITION SENSOR

REMOVAL (FIG. 2)

(1) Remove headlining as necessary to gain access

to sensor.
