7.2 Instructions for use and installation procedure
Figures 1-5: horizontal installation; figures 6-9: vertical installation.
1. When the water level in the tank is higher than the water tap, H
≥
1m, the flow switch opens and the pump
is automatically activated.
2. When the water level in the tank is lower than the water tap, H
<
1m, the pump is activated only manually.
3. When the intake pipes of the water system are long, first turn on the tap and then, after 5-6 seconds,
start the pump.
4. It is recommended to add a ball valve in the filling and draining part of the pump, to facilitate its
maintenance.
5. Pump operating modes (on, off):
–
In
position
I
(MAN), the pump is activated.
–
In
position
II
(AUT), the pump is activated automatically depending on whether the tap is on or off.
–
In position O (STOP), the pump stops.
ATTENTION:
Make sure that a suitable gasket is being used which resists high temperatures
(of at least 100 °C).
In the event of problems during automatic mode, turn the pump to
I
(MAN).
Do not switch on the flow switch during installation of any spare parts.
It is forbidden to test the voltage resistance when the pump is connected with its respective
hoses, otherwise the pump duration is compromised and it may break.
8. ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
CAUTION! ALWAYS FOLLOW THE SAFETY REGULATIONS!
Electric installation must be carried out by skilled and authorized electrician who accepts all the
responsibility for the job
.
Ensure that the mains voltage is the same as the value shown on the motor plate and that there is the
possibility of
MAKING A GOOD EARTH CONNECTION
, in particular the earth terminal must be connected
to the yellow/green lead of the power cable. The earth lead used must be longer than the phase leads so
that it does not disconnect first when subject to traction.
In fixed installations, International Safety Standards require the use of isolating switches with a fuse-carrier
base.
Single-phase motors are provided with built-in thermal overload protection and may be connected directly to
the mains.
The electropumps used in outdoor fountains, garden ponds and similar places, must be fed by
means of a differential switch, which must have a differential operating current no higher than
30mA.
